The president of #Iran's regime Masoud Pezeshkian, who has called himself a member of the #IRGCterrorists Basij which is under multiple U.S. sanctions, has landed in New York protected by the American taxpayer-funded U.S. Secret Service for #UNGA79. This is the same U.S. Secret Service which is guarding another protectee, the Republican nominee for president of the United States Donald Trump, whom Pezeshkian's regime is trying to assassinate on U.S. soil.

 Pezeshkian's plane has been operated by Dena Airways (which acts on behalf of Meraj Air), which are both subject to U.S. counterterrorism sanctions. Meraj Air has sent illicit cargo, including weapons, from Tehran to Syria since at least 2013. Iranian media also reports that Javad Zarif is accompanying Pezeshkian to New York. If true, that's another U.S. failure to enforce its sanctions as Zarif is personally designated under Executive Order 13876. Zarif especially has no urgent business being in New York as he is not a sitting foreign minister or president. Here there is a risk that he will engage in malign influence operations given his history. https://t.me/irna_1313/304876… The Biden administration once again signals: there are no consequences for Tehran's plotting to assassinate American officials; hacking U.S. presidential campaigns and paying antisemitic protesters in the U.S.; engaging in malign influence operations; and arming and funding a terrorist organization which just murdered an American citizen in Gaza and is holding more hostage in tunnels.
