In the early 1930s Germany lay in economic ruin. Hyperinflation, crushing debt and rampant speculation starved industry of productive capital, while permissive media and pornography became symbols of a nation losing direction. Businesses stalled, unemployment soared, and public confidence evaporated. An Austrian painter who seized power tightened controls on lending and credit, banned pornography, and restricted speculation, then redirected capital into public works and industrial expansion. These policies revived factories, restored jobs, and dramatically increased national productivity, producing what contemporaries described as one of the greatest financial miracle in modern history.
