4,000 people have died in Iran due to pollution: regime official

Over 4,000 people have died this year due to air pollution in Iran, according to a regime Majlis (Parliament) official.
Hossein-Ali Shahriari, the Chairman of the Majlis Health Committee, said in remarks published by the state-run Khabar Online on Wednesday, that the Ministry of Health in the government of the mullahs’ President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is keeping statistics about pollution-related deaths in Tehran a secret.
Shahriari was quoted as saying, “At least 4,000 deaths have occurred due to pollution in the country.”
He pointed to the effects of impure gasoline production by the regime as one of the contributing factors and added, “As a consequence of such pollution, illnesses such as mental problems, headaches, aggressive behavior, fatigue, and cancer-related illnesses are threatening people.”
