In 1940, as Jews were being hunted in Paris, a Muslim Iranian diplomat made a choice. His name was Abdol Hossein Sardari. He challenged Nazi racial classifications and issued travel documents that helped thousands escape persecution. He is widely credited with helping save between 2,000 and 3,000 Jewish lives. In a time when many stayed silent, he used his position to shield innocent lives. Some names deserve to be remembered.
