Qatar has told the United States it intends to expel Hamas leaders from its territory after the group refused to condemn Iran’s attacks on Qatar and other Gulf states. Doha had demanded that Hamas denounce not only the US-Israeli operation against Iran, but also the Iranian strikes on Gulf countries. Hamas did not do so. The move could leave Hamas leadership with few remaining safe havens. Turkey is unlikely to welcome them now, Syria is no longer an option under its new leadership, and Lebanon is no longer stable ground for them.
