87 Iranian officials identified as warranting criminal investigations. Based on extensive investigations, Amnesty International has exposed the chain of command behind the Iranian authorities’ crimes against humanity to crush the 2022 Woman Life Freedom uprising. We name 87 officials who should be criminally investigated. Most of these officials remain in positions of authority enabling them to unleash further deadly repression, while some have climbed up the chain of command. This impunity emboldened the authorities to unlawfully kill thousands more protesters between 8 and 9 January 2026. The normalization of mass protest killings in Iran must end. Join us in calling on the UN Security Council to refer Iran’s situation to the International Criminal Court and on the UN General Assembly to create an international criminal justice mechanism for Iran.
